The fells of the Lake District are laced with keldas — springs that emerge quietly from the hillside, cold and clear, feeding the becks and valleys below. They're easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Which is exactly why you need someone who knows where to look.
The name felt right. This is a company built on local knowledge, on finding the roads and places that don't appear on most people's radar — and on the simple belief that the best cycling experiences come from riding with purpose, in a landscape you understand.

Kelda Adventures runs guided road cycling tours in the Lake District and surrounding areas. We keep things deliberately small, have expert local guides on every ride, and a standard of accommodation, food, and logistics that matches the quality of the riding itself. We do two things, and we do both of them properly:

Curated routes we've ridden dozens of times, refined until every stop, every climb, every descent is perfect and led by a local guide to make sure everything is exactly as it should be.
We cover the full range of the Lake District and beyond with accessible weekend tours, demanding week-long journeys and everything in between. These are designed for road cyclists who want a genuine experience rather than a packaged one.

Bespoke, Tailored Service
This service starts with a conversation. Whether you have a specific route in mind, a milestone to mark, a group to impress, or simply a blank calendar and high ambitions — we'll design something entirely around you. No template, no compromise.
No two bespoke trips are the same. We've planned solo bucket-list adventures, anniversary rides, corporate challenges, and everything in between. If you can describe what you want, we can build it.

What we believe in.
Kelda Adventures was built on a set of convictions about what makes a cycling experience genuinely worth having. These aren't aspirations — they're the things we refuse to compromise on.
Small is better
Eight riders is a hard limit, not a guideline. Small groups (4-8) mean better guiding, better conversations, better stops, and a completely different experience to a commercial tour. We'll never trade that for a larger margin.
Place matters
The Lake District isn't just a backdrop. The roads, the passes, the villages, the history; they're the whole point. We guide cyclists who want to properly experience this landscape, not just ride through it.
Local knowledge is irreplaceable
Our guides live and ride here. They know which roads are best avoided on a Saturday, which descent rewards patience, and which village pub deserves the detour. No app can replicate that.
Details define it
The café that actually understands what a cyclist needs at mile 35. The accommodation that has secure bike storage and an early breakfast. The guide who knows when to push and when to let people breathe. These things matter.
The hard roads are the good roads
Honister. Hardknott. Wrynose. Kirkstone. These passes are demanding because they take you somewhere extraordinary. We don't soften the routes — we prepare you for them, and guide you through them.

When someone asks us to design a trip around them, we mean it literally. We don't offer a standard itinerary with a different name on it. We start from scratch, every time.
